.....My how time flies...
Where the heck have I been?

It seems like just last week I was telling all of you how Northern Light Jewelry would be making a transformation to new,
fabulous, MUSE Jewelry. But that was MONTHS ago! I've finally been able to get the website built and put some
beautiful jewelry up for your shopping pleasure, thanks so much for your patience!

So what took me so long, you ask? Well, I guess you could say my jewelry life became somewhat centered around my
part-ownership in the Artists' Gallery of Steamboat, an artist-owned gallery I belong to with 26 other talented artists
from the Yampa Valley, here in Colorado. Aside from building up my inventory so I have a nice-looking display there, I
have also recently become the gallery's Director of Marketing, which is both fun and overwhelming at times!

I have also been one of 50 artists showing at a cool gallery in a fantastic little town called Frisco, CO. Set up in one of
Main Street's historic buildings, WildSide Studio has an eclectic mix of styles and mediums, and after participating in
the gallery's "Just Jewelry" show in May, owner Kris Lee asked me to keep my work there for the duration of the
summer!

OK, but enough about me...it's all about YOU!!!
YOU and glittery new bracelets!
YOU and fun, chunky rings!
YOU and dazzling necklaces!
YOU and spectacular earrings!!!!
YOU deserve them all!

Check 'em out now...

.....Chunky Rings are all the rage!
Dress up your digits!

My collection of funky, chunky rings is still my most popular! Don't have one yet? Keep up with the Jane-ses!! Just
kidding - wearing one of my rings will make you anything but one of the crowd. Each is original (of course
hand-made!) and unique. In fact, if you have a favorite stone or would like a particular color to match one of your
favorite summer outfits, just send me an email: melanie@wearmuse.com and I'll whip up a creation exclusively for
YOU! All rings are $42, including custom orders!

Chunky rings are right here...

.....Show off those ears!
Earrings are the perfect summer accessory...

It's hot... not a wisp of breeze for relief. What do you do? Well, naturally you tuck up those luxurious locks of yours
(which right now feel like a fleece blanket)- in a ponytail, a stylish clip, under your sun hat. That shouldn't be the end
of your fashion prowess, though! Show off some dazzling lobes with MUSE earrings! Chandeliers, drops, precious
gems, in a range of styles and colors...very cool!

Grab yourself a pair now!

Answers to some of your top jewelry questions...

What exactly is "Fine Silver"?
Fine Silver is a precious metal which is 99.9 percent pure silver (you will sometimes see a stamp on the inside: ".999".
In contrast, Sterling Silver has a silver content that's slightly lower, 92.5% (thus the well- known hallmark of ".925" on
sterling pieces). As Fine Silver has a higher silver content, it tends to be a bit softer than sterling, but has an
unmistakable sheen and makes really beautiful jewelry!

"Is a lab-created emerald a fake?" NO! This is a common misconception among jewelry consumers. Here's the quick &
dirty guide to gems:

NATURAL gems are created in the earth when natural elements (such as carbon, iron, calcium) combine with heat,
pressure and time, resulting in everything from coveted tanzanites, rubies and diamonds to more common stones like
peridot, quarts and lapis. LAB-CREATED stones are genetically the same as natural stones... the same elements are
brought together, and similar conditions such as heat and pressure are created in a laboratory environment. Thanks
to technology, the time portion of the equationcan be sped up, allowing us to enjoy these gems now, rather than in a
few million years.
SYNTHETIC or SIMULATED gems are, in fact, what most would call "fakes" - they are materials (glass, plastic, crystal,
even paste a century or so ago) that are substituted for the natural composition of a gem, but colored, faceted and
polished to closely resemble a gem.
Bottom line? You can feel comfortable purchasing lab created gems (such as my stunning ruby earrings) , once you
realize that you really ARE buying a gemstone - it's just that the way it came into being is a little more modern than
conventional!

Got a jewelry question you've always wanted an answer to? Email your question to me: melanie@wearmuse.com . I'll
answer a new question in each issue of my newsletter. If I choose yours, you'll win a $20 MUSE gift certificate! Pretty
sweet - an answer and something that sparkles...
